The 2016 Town of Wakefield Annual Street List is available while supplies last at the Town Clerk’s Office for the low price of $10.

The front cover of this handsome, spiral bound volume features a full-color image of South Reading Common circa 1834 by Wakefield artist Franklin Poole. Inside the cover, local historian Nancy Bertrand provides some historical background on Poole’s painting as well as biographical notes on the artist himself.

The Wakefield Street List provides a listing of all Wakefield residents age 17 and older, arranged by street address within each voting precinct. It also lists the occupations of all residents, making it a perfect gift for those who like to stay informed about their neighbors but don’t wish to intrude upon their safe space.

You can also find out who’s registered to vote and who isn’t, information that can come in handy for political discussions or if you decide to run for office. The list of polling places for each precinct is useful when election time rolls around, along with a handy alphabetical cross reference of street names and their precincts.

The Street List provides some helpful demographic information on the number of people living in Wakefield based on the 2015 Town Census (24,431) and the 2010 Federal Census (24,932). The book also features a handy list of current elected and appointed officials from US Congress to Fence Viewers, along with the year that their terms expire. Also listed are the heads of all Town departments, scannerfrom the Chief of Police to the Electrical Inspector. There is also a list of telephone numbers for every town department.
